This is the authentic traditional Mai Tai recipe from the "Mai Tai" Bar at the Royal Hawaiian Hotel in Waikiki. The original Mai Tai was created by Victor J. Bergeron in 1944 and brought to Hawaii in 1953 at the Royal Hawaiian.
Cosmopolitan
The classic Cosmopolitan, most bartenders know how to make this light, fruity Martini, making it a great choice for a casual night out. There are hundreds of variations on the Cosmo, some use less cranberry juice, some triple sec instead of Cointreau, and a citrus vodka.
Lemon Drop
Pucker up for this sour cocktail that makes a great dessert drink. You can enhance the citrus flavor by adding 1/4 oz Cointreau and using only 1/2 tsp sugar syrup. For the more adventurous, there is also a Lemon Drop shooter.
